finally was able to get some good rest after finals and 2 practices for BGG. But I completely forgot Christmas was right around the corner. Didn’t get gifts for anyone except quick gifts for my siblings. but come Christmas eve, Jess (@jesskayho) gives me a call saying she was coming over.
right before, I think i sleep texted her proposing my idea about playing Santa. Meaning, we bake homemade cookies and fill a plastic bag with goodies for our brothers and sisters we love :) and then surprise them with a personal delivery. What’s better than making the people you love smile on Christmas eve/Christmas?
So she came over around 12 and we didn’t get to start shopping around 1:20. Started baking around 3-4. Made at least 100 cookies and filled each bag with candy and chocolate.
Then started driving around 7:30-8. I think we literally drove everywhere. Had quite a journey:
New Hyde park
Pretty much every part of Flushing (probably drove up and down northern 3x)
Somewhere around queens college
Then lastly sunnyside
Took a total of 5 hrs of driving. Tiring? Yes. But seeing all their reactions were worth it.
And to our surprise, God was in on this project too. Everything worked out. That made it a lot more enjoyable. Plus spending time with one of the best sisters I met in QC(:
But project smiles didn’t end in sunnyside. At church today, my aunt passed the news to me that my grandpa had another heart problem and is currently in the hospital. Not only did My heart drop because his health was declining, but he was spending Christmas by himself. So I went back to my dad’s place with my bro and asked him to take us to visit him at the hospital. At least to wish him a merry Christmas. Even being in a hospital, his face lit up when we came into his room.
I’m happy with the turnout of this Christmas :)
Did something I enjoyed doing.
